Purpose:

The purpose of this experiment is to determine the molar concentration of a strong acid by taking a strong base of known concentration and titrating measured volumes with it. The sodium hydroxide solution from the previous lab will be used in this experiment as well.

Intro/Background:

Through titrations, the concentration of reactants can be determined.  In this lab, the titration between a strong acid and a strong base will take place.  In a titration, the titrant is used to react with the analyte.  A neutralization reaction will take place, and the product of the reaction will be water.  One reactant will neutralize the other.
