The purpose of this experiment was to determine the reaction rate constants for three trials using the redtide machine and the transmittance/absorbance of the three solutions: NaOH, CV, and distilled water. The constant for trial one was calculated to be 0.0116, trial 2: 0.0178, and for trial 3: 0.0128.  Possible sources of error may have been accidental human error in spilling the solution when transferring into the redtide machine, not cleaning any excess water off of the cuvette, and not calibrating or mixing the solution fully which would alter the results.  Overall, the procedure was clear and easy to follow while performing.
