Abstract

The purpose of this lab is to use conductometry titration to obtain the concentration of a Ba(OH)2 solution. This is done by determining the equivalence point with a conductometric method. Conductometric method makes use of the fact that solutions conduct electricity when ions present.  Therefore, in the experiment, the Ba(OH)2 solution will be titrated with a H2SO4 solution to find the equivalence point.  The equivalence point will be found at the minimum conductivity.  Once the equivalence point is determined, the concentration of Ba(OH)2 can be found.  These results are important because if the equivalence point is off, then the concentration of Ba(OH)2 will be wrong.
